Windows Phone 7 includes a cool, distinctive UI for choosing dates and times: three vertical spinners create a fun "endless looping" experience that people really enjoy using. The Phone Toolkit's
DatePicker and TimePicker controls implement the exact same experience as the core controls, so it's easy to add date and time selection to your own application! What's more, these controls are both culture-aware and automatically configure themselves according to the settings on the user's phone (ex:
d/m/y vs. m/d/y date formats and 12- vs. 24-hour time format). The API for DatePicker and TimePicker will be familiar to anyone who's used similar "picker" controls in the past. The Header convenience property simplifies the task of labeling either control - in a platform-consistent font and style! Here's the XAML for the example above and to the right:
<toolkit:DatePicker Header="Date" Value="9/16/2010" ValueChanged="DatePickerValueChanged"/> <toolkit:TimePicker Header="Time" Value="12:34 pm" ValueChanged="TimePickerValueChanged"/>
The DatePicker is an important control because of a limitation of the “Date” input scope. You can add an input scope of “Date” to a textbox in Windows Phone, but this doesn’t give a nice date picker like you might expect. It doesn’t even give you a number-based keyboard, but just the standard alphabetical one.
<TextBox InputScope="Date" />In This we have Face a PROBLEM In BUTTONS
To Over Come This Problem We Have to follow these Task
STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED
First of all, download the toolkit from CodePlex
and place it on your harddrive.![]()
- Don`t forget to add a reference to Microsoft.Phone.Controls.Toolkit for your WP7-Project.
- Open up your XAML of the appropriate PhoneApplicationPage in VisualStudio, where you want to implement the DatePicker-Control
- Add the Namespace to your Page…
- Using the Control on the page…
- You will be presented a page for picking the date, like in the calendar-app, BUT this is no PhoneApplicationPage one hast access to!! I marked the buttons in the ApplicationBar. To fix this issue, so you have a “check” and a “cancel”-icon, you have to add a folder to your project called Toolkit.Content!
- Now you have to add from your icons the ApplicationBar.Cancel.png and the ApplicationBar.Check.png to the folder.
- The DatePicker control searches for exact this Folder with these two files!
- After this, you`re done and it should look like this…
- Finally you have to made this Changes these Changes then it ll be done sucessfully
